Bright Star
Hey there, bright star, I wish I was you,
Burning all through the night.
I think it’s so cool the way that you rule,
Making your endless light.
Not that you’re really eternal –
But I guess you’ll last longer than me.
And I love how you rise in those magical skies,
A sparkle on every sea.
The thing is I want this forever.
I want all this beauty to last
Way beyond now or the morning,
way beyond what is – or past.
I want to lie here in these arms, bright star,
And feel this soft breath on my skin
For as long as you’ve seen love before, bright star,
For as long as this dark world we’re in.
I want to be fire and light, bright star.
I want be always with him.
You’ve seen it before, I think you can tell
Just what kind of trouble I’m in.
